Flying the flag for the South African human resources (HR) industry, Cape Town-based recruitment firm GRM has been nominated for an award at the prestigious Asia Recruitment Awards held in Hong Kong on 11 April 2019.

Launched in 2015, the Asia Recruitment Awards honours the best recruiters and in-house hiring teams across the entire Greater China region. GRM is one of three global recruitment agencies selected as a finalist in the Best Cross-Border Recruitment Strategy category.

The award recognises excellence in cross-border talent sourcing and acquisition on a global scale. Entrants are required to demonstrate a strategic collaboration between staff or offices for the benefit of the job seeker and hiring company. Finalists are selected based on their ability to effectively communicate with local candidates, show cultural understanding and sensitivity, and consolidate candidate expectations with clients’ unique requirements on overseas assignments.

“It’s wonderful to be recognised for outstanding service by our industry peers from halfway across the world,” says Rob Green, CEO of GRM’s SA, UK and Hong Kong offices. “I’m so proud of our teams in Cape Town and Hong Kong. The Asia Recruitment Awards are the ‘Oscars’ of the HR industry in Asia, and just being named as a finalist is a huge honour and a coup for the South African HR industry.”

Winners are selected by the top HR and talent acquisition professionals in the Asia region. Judges hail from a diverse set of well-respected MNCs, retailers, and financial institutions like Cigna, Salvatore Feragamo, Asia Miles, Hutchinson, Pictet, and OCBS Bank.

Green concluded, “Our nomination is the culmination of a global strategy we launched three years ago. Echoing our clients’ and candidates’ increasingly global scope, we decided to pool the expertise and strengths of our consultants on three different continents to tackle international mandates more effectively. It’s fantastic to see our hard work pay off.”
